Congratulations! You may have just stumbled upon 2025's perfect feel good pop banger all about falling for a sophisticated woman, who is way out of your league.. admiring from a distance. Think "Stacy's Mom", "Mrs. Robinson", "What I Go To School For" theme, but as though Texas and ABBA joined forces to make a song.

The Story Behind The Song..

THIS song has to be my favourite, most enjoyable songwriting and producing experience to date. I think because I was treating it as a throwaway song, just for fun, don’t care if it is rubbish.

So, in February I did the February Album Writing Month challenge (write and record 14 songs in 28 days) Within the challenge of FAWM, the admin set up mini challenges each week, and one week the challenge was "Palindromes". If you don't know, a Palindrome is a word or sentence which spells the same thing backwards as forwards.

So I just googled ‘palindromes’ and the list came up and I picked some of the most overused and obvious ones; Madam and Anna, racecar and radar. The song just wrote itself. I don’t even remember writing it. I played a riff on the guitar, a verse came, complete with rhythm and melody, a bunch of lyrics started coming, then I got the piano involved and listening to the song now it seems like I was channelling my inner ABBA and Prince (falsetto) with a pinch of Texas. It took just seven hours from picking my palindromes to finished demo. It was amazing. I think it may have been helpful that I did have a bit of a crush on someone very stylish and sophisticated at the time, so that helped me feel into the groove!

This is the first single from the album "Grange Road". Written, composed, arranged, produced and performed entirely by Catherine Elliott. All instrumentation and vocals by Catherine Elliott. Mixed and Mastered by Catherine Elliott.
