Congratulations! You may have just discovered 2025's perfect feel good pop banger all about falling for a sophisticated woman, who is way out of your league.. admiring from a distance. Think "Stacy's Mom", "Mrs. Robinson", "What I Go To School For" theme, but as though Texas and ABBA collaborated on it.

The Story Behind The Song..

THIS song has to be my favourite, most enjoyable songwriting and producing experience to date. I think because I was treating it as a throwaway song, just for fun, don’t care if it is rubbish.

So, in February I did the February Album Writing Month challenge (write and record 14 songs in 28 days)
Within the challenge of FAWM, the admin set up mini challenges each week, and one week the challenge was "Palindromes". If you don't know, a Palindrome is a word or sentence which spells the same thing backwards as forwards.

So I just googled ‘palindromes’ and the list came up and I picked some of the most overused and obvious ones; Madam and Anna, racecar and radar. The song just wrote itself. I don’t even remember writing it. I played a riff on the guitar, a verse came, complete with rhythm and melody, a bunch of lyrics started coming, then I got the piano involved and listening to the song now it seems like I was channelling my inner ABBA and Prince (falsetto) with a pinch of Texas. It took just seven hours from picking my palindromes to finished demo. It was amazing.
I think it may have been helpful that I did have a bit of a crush on someone very stylish and sophisticated at the time, so that helped me feel into the groove!

This is the first single from the album "Grange Road".
Written, composed, arranged, produced and performed entirely by Catherine Elliott.
All instrumentation and vocals by Catherine Elliott.
Mixed and Mastered by Catherine Elliott.

Lyrics

Saw you in your racecar
Now you're on my radar
wanna know your name
And take you on a date
And get to know ya
Oh you've got that thing that
Old je ne sais quoi
Slow that racecar
Let me in,
and we can go for a ride

Oh, Madam Anna
You know just what to say
Oh, Madam Anna
You take my breath away
Oh, Madam Anna
You really are the bomb
Where did you come from?
Will you be staying long
Oh Madam Anna
M-m-m-m-m-Madam Anna!

Saw you
walking down the street, yeah
Just the other night
You caught my eye
Head held high
Full of pride, looking fine
It's some kind of magic
It's some kind of spell
It's some kind of mystery
I'm fascinated can't you tell...
You fascinate me can't you tell?

Oh, Madam Anna
You know just what to say
Oh, Madam Anna
You take my breath away
Oh, Madam Anna
You really are the bomb
Where did you come from?
Will you be staying long
Oh Madam Anna
M-m-m-m-m-Madam Anna!

Don't know how you do what you do
Do you know what you're doing to me?
And I don't even know your name
So until the day we meet...
See you in my dreams

Oh, Madam Anna
You know just what to say
Oh, Madam Anna
You take my breath away
Oh, Madam Anna
You know just what to say
Oh, Madam Anna
You take my breath away
Oh, Madam Anna
You really are the bomb
Where did you come from?
Will you be staying long
Oh, Madam Anna
You really are the bomb
Where did you come from?
Will you be staying long
Oh, Madam Anna
You really are the bomb
Where did you come from?
Will you be staying long
Oh Madam Anna
M-m-m-m-m-Madam Anna!
M-m-m-m-m-Madam Anna!
